Lawyer Comments on the Erin Andrews $55M Jury Verdict
Earlier today, New York trial lawyer, Gerry Oginski, and our Senior Partner, Mitch Jackson, had the chance discuss yesterday’s $55 million jury verdict in the Erin Andrews case. Mitch and Gerry answered questions and shared their insight as to what happened and what they think will happen next.
Erin Andrews was awarded $55 million by a Nashville jury in a lawsuit brought against Nashville Marriott, West End Hotel Partners and Windsor Capital Group, and the individual, Michael David Barrett, for negligence leading to emotional distress and invasion of privacy. The jurors found Mr. Barrett, who pleaded guilty and served more than two years in prison for traveling across state lines to videotape Ms. Andrews multiple times, responsible for 51 percent of the blame. $27 million of the damages is allocated to the hotel related companies.
