According to Martindale-Hubbell, The Bar Register™ is limited to only the most distinguished law practices; those that have achieved the AV® rating in the Martindale-Hubbell® Law Directory. Only lawyers and firms achieving the highest independent level of legal ability and the highest adherence to professional standards of conduct, ethics, reliability and diligence receive such a rating and listing.

How is this rating established?

Other lawyers and judges in the local community confidentially participate in the rating process. Ratings are established by attorneys for attorneys and as stated by Martindale-Hubbell, “clearly indicates a demonstration of the highest professional and ethical standards.”

Ratings may not be solicited or purchased. They do reflect the local legal community’s opinion as to a lawyer’s ability and ethics.
