Dana Hills and Aliso Viejo High School Students Join Monarch Beach Sunrise Rotarians for Vocational Day
Each year our Rotary Club host about 120-150 high school students and guests for Vocational Day. This year Lisa and I, together with several Rotary friends, took about 20 students down to the Orange County Superior Court to meet the Hon. James Di Cesare and Hon. James Crandall. To the right is a picture of several students with Judge Di Cesare.
During our visit to the courthouse, the judges and their staff were kind enough to share comments and answer questions about our legal system and what it is like to be a lawyer, judge, and work at the courthouse. The students watched the direct and cross examination of a witness during a civil jury trial in Judge Di Cesare’s courtroom. Afterwards, we walked down the hall to the criminal courts and Judge Crandall shared his thoughts and took questions about criminal search and seizure law.
At the end of the morning our Rotary Club treated the students to lunch at On the Border Restaurant and then dropped them off at Dana Hills High School and Aliso Viejo High School.
