Every year, the Consumer Attorneys of California (CAOC) presents the “Street Fighter of the Year” award to a trial lawyer who helped create a more just society by overcoming incredible odds without regard to profit or personal benefit.

We are honored to announce that this year, our very own Jon Mitchell “Mitch” Jackson, has been nominated for consideration of this prestigious award. For about 27 years, Mitch has worked extremely hard to help protect the important legal rights of injured consumers.

Together with his highly skilled partner, Lisa M. Wilson, the legal team of Jackson & Wilson, Inc. has successfully protected those people who couldn’t protect themselves and has held large corporations responsible for their defective products and “profits above people” business decisions.

In addition to the above, several additional factors considered by the awards committee include:

• Whether the case demonstrates a particular skill of the attorney in achieving the result;
• Whether the attorney faced unusual obstacles, great risk, or incredible odds he or she had to overcome;
• Whether the case and/or attorney stands out in comparison to similar case results or settlement offers.

The finalists will be announced in later this month and awards will be given on November 10, 2012, at The Palace Hotel in San Francisco. The dinner will be held in conjunction with CAOC’s 51st Annual Convention.

For those of you not familiar with the CAOC, it is the largest statewide organization of attorneys who represent plaintiffs and consumers who seek responsibility from wrongdoers. Its mission is to seek justice for all, preserve the right to trial by jury for all consumers, and uphold the honor and dignity of the legal profession and the highest standards of ethical conduct and integrity.
