National Stop on Red Week

Help Prevent Injuries and Deaths in California

This week (August 4 to 10) is the 2013 National Stop on Red Week. Most drivers in California, and where we live here in Orange County, are not aware of the this problem or real risk of injury and death. It’s amazing to us how many people simply are not paying attention or just do not care. Take a few minutes and watch this video…

Statistics that may shock you

In recent years, California drivers experience an average of about 2,825 fatal crashes on our roadways. About 2,200 involve a traffic signal. The number of intersection or intersection related fatal crashes in California totaled averages between 600-700.

Also in recent years, California drivers experience the most red-light violations on Fridays (about 7,300) and the least amount of violations on Sundays (about 6,100). Most violations take place in the afternoon. When it comes to holidays, Independence Day appears to be the worst holiday travel period in California.
