Your comments regarding the insurance companies do not have your best interest as a priority is 100% spot on. I had just gotten off duty as a deputy sheriff several years ago when I was hit from behind on the freeway by a reckless driver. The physical damage to the back of my vehicle and the front of his was evidence of his fault. Additionally an independent witness pulled over and gave CHP a statement stating such. The CHP cited the driver for excessive speed and reckless driving. 2 months later... no return calls from my insurance company that I had been paying good money to for years, my car was not repaired, my medical bills were not paid by my full coverage policy with a MAJOR carrier. Come to find out, the other driver was insured by the same carrier. I finally got in touch with the adjustor who stated, "Well, the other driver said it wasn't his fault." This was their reason for not compensating my expenses or making me whole, despite ALL of the evidence against the other driver. I am not litigious by nature, but I was forced to sue my own carrier.
